Columbus, Georgia- made by Julie on 7/9/08
Vacation day #5. We passed through West Point, Ga., and stopped to see Ft. Tyler, which was a earthen fort, and my husband commented that it was the best preserved of that type he had ever seen...which I thought was really saying something since he is a big Civil War person and has visited many forts around the south. Then we went further south to Columbus, Ga., where we basically looked at some old homes, from the early 1900's, and as you can see here, one belonged to the man who came up with the original Coca-Cola formula! He was a pharmacist. This was neat to see...especially due to the fact that I think I had heard that concoction actually contained cocaine!!! What a recipe! Hey...how do you like the coke bottle I had to draw myself?????

This is such a great idea, and such an easy way to document your vacation. I'll have to try doing this if I ever take another driving vacation. I sure wish ATCs would have been in fashion back when I traveled on business, as well as the personal vacations in foreign countries. I would have loved being able to look through a stack--certainly a lot easier than the 12" x 12" scrapbooks I made.

Have you tried inchies? I've been doing those lately--little 1" x 1" squares with the same concept as ATCs, only smaller. They are so much fun to make. You'll have to try them sometime.

Aiyana- You know I was thinking the same darn thing...I like it so much! I figure when I die my kids will have this as a documentation not only of where I went, but my likes and also just have a "scrapbook" of sorts that I loved putting together! I will have to check out the inchies...that sounds difficult to do...hmmmmm.

That is nice. I wish I had done something like this when we traveled in the motor home for three years. I could have made a grand one about Zelda Fitzgerald when we visited her home in Montgomery Alabama or Hank Williams grave....I think I am going to give these a try. You inspire me. : )
